Mybootee Babee Chullo

I created this pattern in an effort to make these popular hats with the ability to stretch and fit different sized heads.  Babies grow so fast its hard to find something that fits.

Will fit babies' heads 15 inches up to 18 inches (if your knitted fabric is stretchy) in circumference. Note: The average newborn head is 16 inches, if you have a special size in mind please email me at Mybb@comast.net for size adjustments. Also some yarns are not as stretchy so when you knit a swatch to test your gauge, you will also want to evaluate its stretchiness. It may be necessary to make a larger size.

Gauge: 6 sts = 1 inch, 8 rows = 1 inch
Materials needed: 85 yards DK weight yarn & US size 5 Double Pointed needles required. (1 Addi Turbo 16 inch circular needle is also very helpful if you have used them before, but I would not recommend them for a new knitter.)

Note: Since each yarn is unique, it is strongly recommended that you knit a swatch and make sure it is the proper gauge. Your gauge may also depend on how tightly you knit. If you are a tight knitter you may need to use a larger gauge needle and if you are a loose knitter, you may need to use a smaller gauge needle.

This hat is constructed first by making each ear flap and leaving them on the needles. After the second earflap is completed, you will cast on the back of the hat, work the remaining earflap, then cast on the front of the hat. The hat is then worked in the round until completion.

Using your preferred cast on method (I use continental cast on method)
