Mybootee Babee Beanee

This beanee fits newborn to six months with a head circumference of up to 16 inches.

Gauge: 8 sts = 1 inch, 8 rows = 1 inch
US size 5 Double Pointed needles required. (1 Addi Turbo 16 inch circular needle is also very helpful if you have used them before, but I would not recommend them for a new knitter.)

Note: This pattern has been tested with approximately 50 yards of sport weight and DK weight yarns. Since each yarn is unique, it is strongly recommended that you knit a swatch and make sure it is the proper gauge. Your gauge may also depend on how tightly you knit. If you are a tight knitter you may need to use a larger gauge needle and if you are a loose knitter, you may need to use a smaller gauge needle.

Cast on 80 sts. Join ends
K2 p2 for 40 rows

Row 41: (K2 p2 k2 p2tog ) 9 times
Row 42:(k2 p2tog, k2 p1) 9 times
Row 43:k2 p1 entire row
Row 44:(k2 p1 k2tog p1) 9 times
Row 45:(k2tog p1 k1 p1) 9 times
Row 46:k1 p1 entire row
Row 47:(k1 p2tog p1)  9 times
Row 48:(k1 p2tog) 9 times
Row 49:k1 p1 entire row
Row 50:(k1 p2tog p1) 4 times k1 p1
Row 51:(k1 p2tog) 4 times k1 p1
Row 52:k1 p1 entire row
Leaving a 6 inch tail, cut yarn and using a yarn needle slip each stich onto the needle and pull tight to close top of hat. Weave in loose ends, embellish with a Pom Pom and your done!
